which I found out brought 40 miles an hour winds. Sheets of Rain and loud thunder and lightening over head. We got the brunt of that storm in our town.
Also before storm.
They came thru OK but rather frazzled
We lost quite a few flowers and had to tie up roses bushes and other tall flowers.
Lost lots of tree limbs but around town there were trees toppled
It ruined the $8,000 Half Dome at our park for summer concerts and the sound too which will take hours of fixing hopefully in time for the concerts and the Saturday out door movies they are going to have this year.
All photos need to be enlarged by clicking on them.
this came thru rather battered this is before. I took no afters it was to disheartening.
My Foxgloves bent over and one broke off so it is in the house along with snapped off roses so I can enjoy them inside.
Our neighbors lovely trailer is our back drop for my roses now.
American beauty climbing roses.
Yellow Daisies and wave petunias
Jupiter's beards got rather tattered to but here they are perfect.

Had to check out the baby geese which are now gangly teenagers.

Lucy Goosie was out there with her family too.
As I got closer the pack started separating and moving of in packs of families. How do they know their parents. They all look alike to me. :)

When I looked out at it during the storm it looked like some one was shaking the bjabbers out of it and yet some of the flowers on the inside made it thru because they had flattened out.

We went to walk in the park as it was cool but humid and to check out the damage.
we saw many trees ripped off at the root.
but the birds seemed to be OK.

I think everything seemed a bit shaken up from the storm.
We have rainy weather today too. We kept losing our Internet connection yesterday and we might have another Storm tonight but I am hoping not. Once is enough for me thank you very much.

Wow, that was some storm! But still your blooms are beautiful.
Love those geese. If you ever do any ATCs of them, please save one for me.
Oh we had a high wind storm the other day too and ditto internet. Your flowers are so gorgeous. The geese so cute.
Teri C, Yes it was some storm. But the pix are all of before the storm. I took none afterwards. The poor red roses are flattened out and not so pretty anymore.
OK I might just do some geese then. and I will save one for you.
Suki, Thank you. Sounds like you had what we had. I hope not to have it again. That was plain scary to me what with all our huge trees we have.
Cris, your property is so pretty. So peaceful and scenic. I'm sorry the storm ravaged your flowers, but they will snap back. It's still early in the year. Your pink roses are so full! I can smell them all the way to here.
Those peoneys are so beautiful Cris. So are your roses. I am so sorry for the loss of so many.
Thanks for naming the juiper for me. I have tons of that growing in my front yard, I never planted it. It came in on it's own and returns every year. So pretty Henry loves laying under it.
cute geese shots too.
Busy at work but glad I took a minute to peek in here.
How CUTE are those geese!!! LOVE those peonies!
so glad you are OK - quite the storm. I like the quote of "shaking the bejabbers out of them" - so Cris and cute.
Katie, Thank you. My Roses did smell wonderful. Todays rain did a few more flowers in but they have buds coming out so I am hopeful.
Lynn, Some might think that the jupiters beard is a weed but I love it because it comes back faithfully and is so pretty. actually I have been looking for the ligher pink but cant find it. I grew that in CA. It also comes in white. so pretty. Thank you.
Fifi, Thank you too. Yes those Geese are adorable and I love the peonies too. I need a few more richer colors. :)
Mim, Thank you. Funny word I have used for ever. LOL
Yes I am glad we are ok too. With these huge trees we have I worried.
Thanks everyone.
Hey Cris...sorry I haven't been by in a while. I have read your last few posts. Sorry about the storm beating your beautiful flowers around so. I particularly like the pale pink roses that I think you said were your favorite. Always love seeing the geese, they are growing fast!!! You have recieved some lovely ATCs lately I see and your painting is very, very beautiful! You are really going at it with the next one started. I appreciate your missing me! I have just been so busy it is hard to take the time to blog and there are so many nosey ones around since my laptop is set up in the kitchen. I'm gonna try to keep up better though....somehow. If I don't get back again...have a great weekend (storm free!)
There you go again--those gorgeous flower shots you do so well! Your yard is so pretty, Cris. We do love our flowers, as well. I hate it, though, when rains pummel the poor things. So glad you got photos of them in all their glory. All your pictures here are delightful. Thanks for sharing!
Oh Yah!!! I get first dibs!! lol
Artist, Thank you for visiting. It is a busy time in summer. So I am not posting AS much but I am not going away. Just enjoying spring in the garden right now. I do miss you when your not posting but thats a good thing. Would be sad if we werent missed. :))Thank you for nice compliment on my paintings too.
Sue, Thanks for lovely comment. I took stock of our flowers and we lost a few but some I expected to be pumbled did OK surprisingly.
I went out to dead head the Roses and feed them. One of the guys who owns a garden shop around and comes to the Farmers market said to cut off dead and heavely feed them. They need lots of food and they will come back as pretty. Said I should get more then one showing of my fairy Roses to if I do the same.
Teri C, You've got it. First dibs when I get them done.
Our beautiful garden was badly pummeled in the storm too. I took pix early in the morning and I am so glad I did - everything so flat, broken or bent.
Saw some of your ATC's on Teri's blog and had to come over for a visit since we are neighbors! And...because I liked your ATC's!
What a beautiful garden - and beautiful place to live. No wonder you are constantly full of inspiration and creativity, Cris. I absolutely LOVE storms. I lived in Florida for 30 years on the Atlantic coast and had my share of horriffic storms - dark clouds, wind, rain - hurricanes. Nothing stirs my soul like a good storm - rain or snow!
Pam, Tried to find your blog but couldnt. Where are you in OR. I bet north of me. We spent three hours cleaning up and staking plants back up. and I believe it hit harder north of us. So glad we both took before pix. Thanks for the compliment on my ATCs.
Cathie, Thank you for lovely compliment too. I think my creativity goes into my garden too. I love doing it.
OH storms can be exhilerating but not with these huge tall trees that we have front and back of us. Very scary that. Lots of trees snapped off in the storm around here.
Your peonies are so beautiful. I love this pink.
I am glad to hear you didn't have any structural damage. Those big blows can be so scary. Your garden looks lovely. The roses are something else. Too bad the neighbor has that big camper in the drive. They certainly have a lovely view from there.
Don't you think the geese think the same thing?
How do we know our parents?
:)
