The storm didn't get my peonies thank goodness. They were budding out and made it thru without being ruined. This is the back of one and I thought it was as beautiful from the back as the front.
This year they out did themselves and they were given to me three years ago from someone who was thinning theirs out.
Be sure to click on them to enlarge.
This is the front of it.
From another bush near by. The color is magnificent this year too. Usually they have been a washed out pink. I've feeding them something called BLOOM.
This is our friends garden. I got a couple quick photos.Con built this arbor for her a couple years ago. her peonies were laying on the ground from the wind and her Roses had lost a lot of flowers. That big tall bush was loaded with pink flowers.
The front plant is some kind of Japanese willow such pretty colors that didn't show here.
She is plagued by Deer tho but uses Liquid Fence sprayThese Starlings love bathing. So do the blue Scrub jays.
:))
Another walk at the Duck pond get me these photos. I want to paint this one or one of the others.

Lo and behold she runs to the side and lays down and starts acting like she is hurt, flapping her wing.
I thought it was so pretty but the photo doesn't do it justice.
Fair said that if you pick them and spray them with hair spray and hang them upside down to dry they will stay pink and pretty.
As we walked on we came across a Killdeer that ran out from along side the path where some water and rocks were and started running up the sidewalk away from there. Fair said " I wonder if she has some eggs around here somewhere. Lets watch and see if she starts acting like she is hurt."

Lo and behold she runs to the side and lays down and starts acting like she is hurt, flapping her wing.I got this photo only. She got up as we got closer leading us further away from the spot they had stopped at and did it again. She kept doing this until she thought we were far enough away and then slowly headed back.
We giggled all the way back to the car.

I am posting less right now as we are spending so much time out in the yard & Gardens weeding, feeding and watering our plants. If I want some more Roses blooming I had to get out there and feed them well.
My Fairy roses are starting to bloom right now and I am hoping they are as spectacular as they were last year.
Con mowed the lawns. I chased away a Deer in our back field. I was mad at myself because I reacted without getting my camera and getting a photo first. But I didn't want it getting used to being in the field and it was half way up to our main garden.
I haven't had much time for doing any Art right now but I do consider my Garden a work of Art.

Lovely to know you've been outside, enjoying the garden. Peonies are so pretty, remind me of old fashioned crinoline petticoats.
Your friends garden it pretty too!
Thanks for sharing! (and for leaving awww comments for me and my kitties, too)
I too am in the garden so much that it is difficult to keep up with art memes. I love seeing your garden. I can see why you want to be out there while you can. It is beautiful. I can't wait to see your roses coming along.
Oh Cris, what a show. I did click to enlarge and was WOWed! by the beauty of those top two pinks. So beautiful. Would love to try to paint the top one. You should~!
Enjoy the great outdoors. Great time of year to do so.
OMG, those peonies are just gorgeous. Well, all the photos are gorgeous.
And thanks for keeping us up on the geese. I love seeing them also.
Oh peonies!!!! They're one of my favorites. I have wonderful memories that get stirred up when I smell them. Beautiful photos Chris ;)
Wow--your friend's garden is gorgeous! I always heard that liquid fence stuff isn't that effective, but if her garden is any indication, it seems to work! Maybe the deer don't like what she planted, but I sure do!! Sweet photos of all these beautiful images.
gosh i do remember your garden photos last year too, absolute paradise. and there's an award for you on my blog today too.
Your friend's garden is quite lovely. I really like that arbor.
My peonies have been done for about a week now. They only last a couple of weeks here. Usually the last week of May and first week of June, but they bloomed early this year.
The geese are cute. We have so many here that they are like starlings, just something to be tolerated. Some people are so tired of them that I see them hit by cars often.
Those peony pictures tickle my heart....What lovely flowers...Your photography is spot on! What kind of camera do you use??
Thanks for this spectacular garden treat today! :)
I do love visiting your garden Cris. What an eye for beauty you have when taking your photos!
The peonies are beautiful, wonderful shade of pink...my favorite color. I love the shot from the backside. The birds bathing are wonderful, so cute and I like the photo with the crowd of birds....funny story about the killdeer. Good to read your post again! Big Hug.
Thank you EVERYONE for all your lovely comments. I was thinking no one came to visit my blog any more and I was about to give it up, but look at all the comments. Thank you. I am so happy to be outside right now enjoying all my wonderful flowers I have dreamt about my whole life & now am realizing that dream. Soon it will get to hot even here so nows the time to get my enjoyment out of it.
Katie, How can those people be such louts to hit any thing because they think they are pests. So sad. I hear the geese coming back and forth honking daily and I love hearing them and always stop to watch them.
Margaret Ann, I have an old camera. Kodak easy share DX6490 with 10x zoom. I dont like the delays on it and I dont like the fact that when it is cloudy it blurrs alot on me when I zoom in. but I do like my pix alot when I do things right. :)
Your garden IS a work of art and I think the beauty is that we can choose to be outside doing art..or inside doing a different kind of art. Lovely photos and I like the story of the killdeer.
What GORGEOUS pictures you have Cris!!!!
WOWZA! delightful!
Merci
Carolg
